Original release from May 2, 2023:
On May 1, 2023, police responded to the 800 block of 2nd Street for report of a break and enter to a residence. The property owner reported that his truck, camper, and detached garage had been entered between 11pm on April 30th and 7:30am on May 1st, 2023. A gun safe had been entered and nine firearms have been reported stolen. Police are continuing to investigate.
UPDATE:
On May 2, 2023 at approximately 5:00 pm, police responded to a report of long guns located within another yard on the 800 block of 2nd street. Police attended and recovered four guns, which were confirmed to be amongst those stolen from the Break and Enter reported on May 1, 2023. This discovery also led police to learn that property such as two bicycles had been stolen from other neighboring properties in the same time frame as the B&E. The remaining stolen guns are still outstanding.
