Intoxicated female banging on doors

On April 10, 2023 shortly before 9:00 pm, police responded to a report of a female banging on doors in the area of the 700 block of Princess Ave.  Police located an intoxicated 19-year-old female, who was in no condition to care for herself, and there was nobody to turn her over to.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

Brandon male arrested after he allegedly points handgun at pedestrians

At approx. 7:05 AM Saturday, police were called the area of 1st St and Rosser Ave by two people that had been approached by a man with a gun. The victims stated the male asked for a cigarette and when then just continued to walk away the male pointed a hand gun at them. Officers were able to locate an 18 year old male matching the description provided by the callers, in the 100 block of Victoria Ave. The male was found to have a piece of Glock style pistol in his possession. The Police Service dog was used to conduct an article search, resulting in the recovery of another part of the handgun in a yard nearby. The male will appear in court today charged with 2 counts of Point Firearm, and Breach of Probation and 1 count each of Possession of a Weapon Dangerous and Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm.

The Brandon Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating this person who is WANTED BY POLICE: Gracie HALL FOR Assault. On September 1st, 2022, BPS attended to a Brandon residence for a domestic dispute. Investigation revealed HALL slapped her boyfriend across the face along with assaulting him with a weapon on a previous date. HALL was arrested and released, however; has failed to attend court. A warrant of arrest has been issued for HALL as her whereabouts are unknown at this time. ******************************** The Brandon Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in solving a Theft Under $5000. On March 6th, 2023, a male entered a Brandon business located in the 3400 block of Victoria Avenue. While in the business the suspect concealed items in his clothing and exited the business without paying for the merchandise. Assault by Choking

Source: BPS News Release On April 5, 2023, shortly before midnight, police responded to a report of an assault in an apartment.  Once police arrived, investigation revealed that during an argument an 18-year-old male assaulted an adult female.  The female received minor injuries that did to require medical attention.  The suspect was arrested and later released to appear in court on June 1, 2023 on charges of Assault by Choking and Assault.

City of Brandon’s Parks & Recreation Services is excited to announce that the City-Wide Yard Sale is returning following a successful inaugural year and has been expanded to two weekends. The first weekend is for locations east of 18th Street on May 26 – 27, 2023: Friday, May 26 from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The second weekend is for locations west of 18th Street on June 2 – 3, 2023: Friday, June 2 from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 3 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. We invite all residents to register and join us for this sale. The City of Brandon will take care of all advertising, signage, and will provide location maps for attendees. It is completely FREE to register your sale.
