Curling’s most famous national championship will have the backing of a world leader in agricultural and food infrastructure. AGI, based in Winnipeg, will be the presenting partner for the next three editions of the Tim Hortons Brier, beginning with the 2019 Canadian Men’s Curling Championship, March 2-10 at Westoba Place in Brandon, Man. WWE Legend Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake is coming to Brandon

Former WWE superstar Brutus "The Barber"  Beefcake will be making a meet and greet appearance at Brandon's Friendly Neighborhood Comic Shop on November 15th from 12pm-2pm.  Beefcake will be travelling with the Canadian Wrestling's Elite as they will be holding wrestling shows across Western Canada including stops in both Souris and Virden.   The stop at the Friendly Neighborhood Comic Shop will be his only Brandon appearance during the Canadian Wrestling's Elite tour, as there are no shows slated for the Brandon market.

Block n’ Roll Volleyball Tournament

Volleyball enthusiasts will have the chance to take part in a unique indoor tournament at the BU Healthy Living Centre Nov. 23-25. The BU Block n' Roll Tournament will feature a co-ed division and a women's division as games will be played in the HLC main gym late into Friday and Saturday nights. The co-ed half of the tournament runs Friday and Saturday while the women's event runs Saturday and Sunday, both sides featuring competitive and recreation divisions. Teams can register online and pay the $200.00 entry fee per team. Teams are guaranteed a minimum of five games and cash prizes will be awarded to the top team in each division. Much like the Go Bump in the Night tournament run by the Bobcats three years ago, the BU Block n' Roll Party offers a late night tournament format that will feature a beer garden serving beverages until late each night. Wheat Kings deal defenseman to the Vancouver Giants

Brandon, MB. – Less than a week after being designated for assignment, defenceman Ty Ettinger has been dealt from the Brandon Wheat Kings to the Vancouver Giants. In exchange for the 18-year old native of Ardrossan, Alberta, the Wheat Kings will get a seventh round pick in the 2020 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft. Chosen by the Wheat Kings in the fifth round of the 2015 draft, Ettinger is in his second WHL season, having played 45 games for the Wheat Kings during the 2018-19 campaign. Ettinger had two goals, 7 points and 47 penalty minutes during his rookie season. The Wheat Kings, who travel to Saskatchewan for games in Moose Jaw and Regina Thanksgiving weekend, currently have 23 players on their active roster – 2 goalkeepers, eight defencemen and thirteen forwards. Brandon’s next home game is Friday, October 12th vs. Moose Jaw.

Wheat Kings ship goaltender to Edmonton

Source:  Brandon Wheat Kings Brandon, MB. – The Brandon Wheat Kings have dealt 19-year old netminder Dylan Myskiw to the Edmonton Oil Kings in exchange for a conditional fifth round bantam draft choice. A former Winnipeg AAA Midget Thrasher, Myskiw was acquired by Brandon last September from the Victoria Royals for a sixth round selection and wound up playing 33 regular season and playoff games for the Wheat Kings in 2017-18. Wednesday’s trade leaves the Wheat Kings with two goalkeepers on their roster heading into Friday’s Home Opener against Moose Jaw – 17-year old rookie Ethan Kruger and 19-year old Vegas Golden Knights prospect Jiri Patera. Patera was Brandon’s second selection in June’s Canadian Hockey League Import Draft and was chosen by the Knights in the sixth round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. The Czech Republic product appeared in 34 games and compiled a 3.24 goals against average with Cedar Rapids of the USHL in 2017-18. Kruger meanwhile played in eighteen games for the Sherwood Park AAA Midget Kings last year.
