At approx. 1:25 AM today, officers conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of Victoria Ave East. As the officer approached the vehicle, he observed a machete in the vehicle. The occupants of the vehicle were identified, one of which is currently bond by a 12 PM – 6 AM curfew. The 19-year-old female of Waywayseecappo was removed from the vehicle, and placed under arrest for failing to comply with her Release Order. During a search subject to arrest she was found to be in possession of three knives, a large metal pipe, and a can of bear mace. Given that she is currently prohibited from possessing any weapons, the possession of these items constituted further breaches of her Release Order. She was held at the Brandon Police Service charged with 8 counts of failing to comply with a Release Order and a single count of possession of a prohibited weapon. She will appear in court later today.
