The Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba is thrilled to announce the first animation festival
in the Westman region: WestmAnimation, taking place in collaboration with Culture Days on October 13th, 2022.
Strating at 5:30 PM, come by the Brandon Riverbank Discovery Center to check out animations from animators of all ages. Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase snacks and drinks from Sabor Latino’s food truck at the event from 5:00 – 8:00 PM. There will be an opportunity for the audience to vote on their favourite animation.
Post screening, the animations will be displayed at the AGSM and featured on our digital platforms. Entries will be juried, and winners will be chosen for audience choice, youth (less than 18 years of age), and adult (more than 18 years of age). The criteria for entries included a maximum of 15 minutes, animators had to be connected to the Westman area in some way, and each one could only submit up to three entries. A total of ten entries will be juried by a group of Westman regional artists by October 20th.
The public is also invited to attend the winners’ announcement reception at 6:00 PM at the AGSM.
