Man, 20, charged for allegedly shooting victim with BB gun

At 12:54 am on Saturday morning, police responded to a report of a man who had been shot several times with a pellet gun at a residence in the 500 block of Franklin St. Officers spoke with the victim who stated he had been in a dispute with another man whom had been staying with him. The victim was attempting to evict the other man when the argument started, quickly turning physical. During the fight, the suspect used a pellet gun in his possession to shoot the victim several times, causing injuries to the man’s arm and head. The suspect then fled from the scene. The victim was treated and released at BRHC. The suspect later contacted police and turned himself in. Following his arrest, he provided a statement indicating he had also been the victim of an assault. The accused, a 20 year old man from Brandon, was lodged at Brandon Correctional Center to appear in court later on Saturday. The incident is still under investigation.
