A 39-year-old male been arrested for multiple charges including Assault (Domestic), Assault with a Weapon, Overcoming Resistance to Commit, Threaten to Cause Death and Forcible Confinement following an “isolated incident” in Brandon today. Early morning reports indicate that Police were involved in a standoff with a man in the 100 block of 24th Street. Shortly after a statement was released requesting the public avoid the 100 blocks of 25th Street to 23rd Street between Princess Ave and Rosser Ave. It was believed that the male had weapons inside this residence, and the Tactical Response Team was called onto the scene. Police were able to eventually establish communication with the suspect where it was determined that no one else was in the house. The suspect did not comply with police direction and was sequentially taken into custody around 3:30 pm. The male is known to police with a history of violence.
