On Wednesday evening emergency services responded to the 7/11 convenience store on Willowdale Crescent for a vehicle that struck a sign.
A red Dodge Ram pickup left the roadway and smashed into a large 7/11 sign in front of the convenience store. The sign had received obvious damage, and was leaning to one side. The pickup also sustained significant damage, as the whole front end of the truck was demolished.
According to a bystander who witnessed the crash, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene before the arrival of emergency vehicles. Fluids were leaking from the vehicle, which required Brandon Firefighter/Paramedics to deploy sand around the vehicle to contain the fluids.
