Westoba Credit Union (WCU) and the Brandon Wheat Kings have once again joined
forces to find their next 20212022 Westoba Wheat Kings Jr. Reporters.

The contest starts on Tuesday, September 28th, and is open to all Manitoba hockey fans between the  ages of five to twelve. To enter, Wheat King Fans are encouraged to submit a video of their interviewing skills to show us why they are the next Westoba Wheat Kings Jr. Reporter.

This contest gives young hockey lovers a chance to enter to win some great prizes, and the opportunity to meet and interview players and staff from the Brandon Wheat Kings.

Interviews will be featured on Westoba Credit Union’s YouTube Channel, wheatkings.com, on the Video  Scoreboard at several Brandon home games in 202122 as well as all over social media!

We are proud to partner with the Brandon Wheat Kings to bring back the Westoba Wheat Kings Jr. Reporter after last season was cancelled as a result of the pandemic,” says Jim Rediger, President and Chief Executive Officer of WCU. This is our sixth year of this contest, and it is an incredible opportunity for young hockey fans to get involved in their community, showcase their passion for the sport and meet their favourite players.

Contest deadline is Friday, October 29th, 2021. Fans are encouraged to visit westoba.com for more information on the contest and to submit their unique and creative videos. All contest participants are asked to follow all COVID19 health regulations when conducting their interviews.

The two winners will be announced on November 17, 2021, and make their 20212022 season debuts later in the season.

“The Westoba Credit Union Jr. Reporter contest is one of my favorite events of the year,” said Branden Crowe, Wheat Kings Director of Strategic Marketing and Radio Broadcaster. “Seeing the kids interact with the players, asking fun questions and learning more about the team is a lot of fun. This is a great opportunity for the kids to get involved behind the scenes, get out of the comfort zone and build relationships with our players!”
