Motor Vehicle Accident with Injuries:

At approximately 8:37 p.m., emergency services responded to a three-vehicle accident on Kirkcaldy Drive. Early investigation indicates that a Pontiac Grand Prix driven by a 27-year-old man was west bound on Kirkcaldy Drive and collided with a small SUV driven by a female as she was making a North bound turn onto Cater Drive. The Pontiac Grand Prix then collided with a Minivan driven by a female that was eastbound on Kirkcaldy Drive. All three vehicles were damaged extensively from the collision. STARS transported the driver of the Pontiac Grand Prix to hospital in Winnipeg with severe injuries. The male remains in hospital and serious condition. In total, nine people were involved in the accident with six people transported and admitted to hospital. One of the injured is a 5-year old child who sustained a head injury. The child is in stable condition. Brandon Police Collision Analysts attended the accident scene and continue to investigate. Speed, alcohol and drug use are believed to be factors in the accident with charges against the male driver of the Pontiac Grand Prix pending. Kirkcaldy Drive was closed from Fraser Crescent to Patterson Crescent but is now open again to the public.
