On March 13, 2023 at 11:30 am, police responded to a report of an assault in a residence. When police arrived at the home, the suspect was surrendering to police. Investigation revealed that the male broke the victim’s bedroom door, jumped on her and threatened to kill her and her dogs while holding a pair of scissors. He also broke her cell phone.
The victim also disclosed another assault, which occurred in the fall of 2022 in which the suspect fractured her wrist during an assault.
The 26-year-old male suspect was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Assault Cause Bodily Harm, Assault, Assault with a Weapon, Mischief to Property X2 and Utter Threats X2.
