On December 1, 2020, shortly after 7:00 am, police responded to a report of an assault, which occurred in the common area of an apartment building in the 700 block of Louise Ave. An unauthorized individual was found inside the building by a resident and confronted. The suspect then assaulted the victim by kicking and punching them several times. As the suspect left, he was holding a screwdriver, and threatened harm to the victim. The victim did not require any medical attention. Police located the 22-year-old male suspect several blocks away where he was arrested. In his possession was stolen mail. The suspect appeared in court later in the day on charges of Assault, Possess Weapon Dangerous, Uttering Threats, Fail to Comply with Release Order, and Possess Stolen Mail.
