Assiniboine Community College is excited to announce today – National Indigenous Peoples Day – the generous gift of $250,000 made by the Louis Riel Institute, the educational affiliate of the Manitoba Métis Federation, to establish a bursary endowment fund known as the Louis Riel Bursary.
The announcement was made in Selkirk, Man. earlier this afternoon with David Chartrand, MMF President, Joan Ledoux, Minister of Provincial Education with the MMF Board of Directors, and Dr. Deanna Rexe, Assiniboine’s Vice-President, Academic.
This endowment will provide assistance to qualified Métis students so they may take advantage of educational opportunities provided by Assiniboine Community College.
