WCG Announces New President & CEO


Westman Communications Group (WCG) is pleased to announce that their Board of Directors has appointed Dr. Tim Berube as the new President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective March 28, 2022. Berube will assume the leadership role as current President & CEO Dave Baxter transitions into retirement after 26 years with the organization.

Berube brings a wealth of expertise to WCG, which spans the areas of global
leadership, executive management, governance, business development, operations,
sales, marketing, engineering, project management, adjudication, and consulting.

“WCG looks forward to welcoming Tim as our incoming President & CEO,” said Jason
Roblin, Board of Directors Chair at WCG. “Tim’s experience encompasses a range of
positions within the public and private sectors coupled with various positions within
the telecommunications industry, providing him with a well-rounded foundation to
lead the strategic direction of our team.”

Berube’s 25 years of experience started with the Canadian Forces. During his career
abroad, he was Vice-President and General Manager for the broadband
communications firm Arris International in Tokyo, Japan. Upon repatriating to
Canada, he founded Ben Berube Holdings International, an organization offering
domestic and international consultancy services. More recently, he has served on the
Board of Directors with the Northwest Local Health Integration Network under
Ontario’s Ministry of Health and Long-term Care. He is currently a Commissioner with
the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission.

Fueled by a passion for learning, Berube has also received various degrees and
diplomas, which encompass an Electronic Technologist diploma, a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical), a Master of Business Administration (International), a Master
of Science (Leadership), and a Doctor of Philosophy (Metaphysical Sciences).

“The Board of Directors would like to thank outgoing President & CEO, Dave Baxter,
for his leadership over the last 26 years. In the rapidly changing telecommunications
industry, he has led his team to provide all our communities and many new
