The Brandon Wheat Kings have traded defensemen Zach Wytinck to the Regina Pats in exchange for a fifth round draft choice in the 2022 WHL Bantam Draft. Jiri Patera, captain Connor Gutenberg and the recently acquired Dom Schmiemann will serve as the team’s three overage players this season.

Former Wheat King Scott Glennie has joined the 2112 Hockey Group where he will be working as both a player recruiter and a one-on-one video coach for the company’s younger clients and pro-players looking to improve their skills. Glennie recently retired from the game following two surgeries (foot) that left him unable to play the game at the pro level. He played four seasons in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Brandon Wheat Kings from 2007-2011. The right-winger then moved on to play with the Texas Stars in the American Hockey League (AHL) where he won a Calder Cup.
