Brandon White Express return home Atom A2 provincial champs

The Brandon White Express claimed the Atom A2 provincial title in Macdonald, MB on Sunday afternoon after defeating Stonewall 8-4. Cashton Chastellaine registered 5 goals and an assist to lead the way for the Express in the title game. Jackson Chastellaine also had a big game picking up a goal and 5 assists. Hudson Ehnes and Jackson Batenchuk each chipped in with a goal as well.  The team also won the house league championship earlier this month on the 5th of March. BeezKneez claim Brandon Senior Men’s Basketball title

The 2019/20 season in the Brandon Senior Men's Basketball League concluded today as BeezKneez upended Royal Le Page 91-79 to claim the league title. Keenan Caribou (32 points, 8 rebounds) and Adam Hartman (20 points, 9 rebounds) led the way offensively for BeezKneez. Earl Thompson Jr. replied with 33 points for Royal Le Page in the loss. The Thundercats won the 3rd place game with an 88-76 victory over Extreme Clean. Facebook page.

Westman Magic Reunion planned for 2020

An alumni reunion for former Westman Magic softball players will be held September 18 & 19 in Brandon at the Ashley Neufeld Softball Complex. A number of activities have been planned including a beer garden, softball skills clinic, alumni game, and a pancake breakfast. Saturday afternoon features a college softball double header as Dickinson and Mayville State University will face off against one another. Proceeds from the weekend will go towards the Ashley Neufeld Softball Complex as the complex builds towards hosting the U14 Softball Canada National Championships in 2021. Westman Wave 13U capture gold at premier series volleyball tournament

The Westman Wave 13U girl's volleyball team (Westman Volleyball Club) traveled to Winnipeg this weekend to participate in Volleyball Manitoba's 2020 Premier Tournament. The team ran through the round robin portion on their pool undefeated (3-0) prior to advancing to the playoff championship. They then won their next two two games propelling the girls to the championship final where they toppled the Bison Gold 25-18, 25-23, to claim tournament gold.

Whiskey Jacks add to coaching staff for 2020

In a release today, the Wheat City Whiskey Jacks Baseball Club of the Expedition League, added two names to its coaching staff, to join new Head Coach Walker Bullington this summer in Brandon. SPENCER MILLER, New Orleans, LA – Assistant Coach (Catchers & Hitters), and DANNY RODRIGUEZ, Coral Gables, FL – Assistant Coach (Infielders & Hitters). Both Miller and Rodriguez are from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama. Miller is a 1st year assistant with the Badgers, Rodriguez is a graduating senior at the college. “I’m really confident in their abilities in baseball and as communicators, they’ll be excellent additions to our staff in Brandon”, said Head Coach Walker Bullington. The Whiskey Jacks have 24 players signed to date, with more are expected to be announced as the season draws closer.
