Westoba Credit Union (WCU) is proud to announce funding received from its
partner, Wyth Financial, in the amount of $5000.00 to support the Truth and Reconciliation
Week 2022 event in Brandon.

Wyth Financials’ Empowering Your Community grant program supports initiatives that build
better communities. A full list of the 2022 grant winners is available on Wyth’s website at
www.wyth.ca

As a sponsor of the 2021 event, Westoba has already put its support behind the 2022 event, scheduled to take place from September 27th to October 4th . Westoba will actively participate on the Truth and Reconciliation Week planning committee and is looking forward to being involved in the events taking place throughout the week.

“This is an initiative we feel very strongly about,” said Jim Rediger, WCU President and CEO.
“The fact that our application to Wyth Financials’ Empowering Your Community grant program was successful, indicates that our partners value and recognize our community efforts.”

Brandon Urban Aboriginal Peoples’ Council’s (BUAPC) Community Coordinator, Michèle
LeTourneau says this grant donation will provide much-needed financial support for the 2022 event. “The inaugural year of Truth and Reconciliation Week demonstrated there is a marked interest on the part of the City of Brandon and its citizens in pursuing matters related to truth and reconciliation and to participate actively,” said Le Tourneau. “The 2022 event will include a weekend which we anticipate will bring more visitors and provide more opportunities for commemoration, celebration and education”.

Planning for the 2022 event has already begun with the first meeting of the newly formed
organizing committee taking place later this month.
