Bjarnason, Hyland selected in today’s NHL Entry Draft
A pair of Brandon Wheat King teammates were among those selected on day 2 of the NHL’s Entry Draft. The Philadelphia Flyers drafted goaltender Carson Bjarnason in the 2nd round, 51st overall while forward Brett Hyland was selected by the Washington Capitals in the 7th round, 200th overall.
Bjarnason was the top-ranked North American netminder by NHL Central Scouting. This past season, he went 21-19-6 with a 3.08 goals-against average and .900 save percentage in 47 games for the Wheat Kings. Hyland picked up 26 goals/47 pts in 42 games last season with Brandon.
