Clear Lake Country Destination Enrichment Organization Launches Summer Sunset Free Concert Series

Clear Lake Country, August 9, 2024 – The Clear Lake Country Destination Enrichment Organization is excited to announce the Summer Sunset Free Concert Series starting this month. This event brings two major Canadian artists to Wasagaming for free, open-air, family-friendly performances.

Event Lineup:

• Sunday, August 25: Owen Riegling- 6:45pm

  • Owen Riegling is a talented country artist from Mildmay, Ontario (population 1200) known for his heartfelt lyrics and captivating performances. His unique blend of traditional country sounds with contemporary influences has earned him a dedicated fan base and critical acclaim. Owen Riegling | Official Site

  • Opening Act: The Route 10 Collective presents the music of The Band’s Last Waltz

• Sunday, September 8: Begonia – 7pm

  • Begonia, a beloved artist from Manitoba, has been recognized with Polaris and Juno nominations for her distinctive voice and emotionally resonant music. Her performances are known for their dynamic energy and deep connection with audiences. Her first EP was written in a cabin in the Clear Lake region, and she is thrilled to bring her music back to the area before launching into a Eastern Canada fall tour. Begonia (hellobegonia.com)

Concerts will take place on the shores of Clear Lake in Wasagaming’s central park — with beautiful Riding Mountain National Park as the backdrop.  Concerts start early in the evening and conclude just after sunset.

“Our region has so much to offer,” said Karly McRae, a representative of the Clear Lake Country Destination Enrichment Organization. “We are rich in natural beauty, with Clear Lake as the centerpiece; but we are also a cultural hub. The Sunset Artist series is a fantastic opportunity to showcase our region to concert attendees.”

This series addresses the impact of lake access restrictions on local tourism operators by attracting visitors to the region with world class events and cultural activities. Visitors are encouraged to stay for a few days to fully appreciate the diverse offerings of the region. From exceptional dining experiences, the newly opened Klar So Nordic Spa, to a variety of outdoor activities, there is something for everyone in this picturesque destination.
