67-Year-Old Hospitalized After Random Assault with Baseball Bat: Suspect Arrested

At 12:55PM on January 15^th Brandon Police Service (BPS) received a report of a male hitting another male in the face with a baseball bat in the 100 block of 7^th Street. The 43-year-old male was located and arrested in the 800 block of Rosser Avenue. The victim, a 67-year-old male, was transported to hospital via ambulance and required stitches. The victim did not know the accused nor was there any conflict that led to the assault. The accused had injuries of his own from an unknown source. He would not cooperate with police. He was taken to hospital where he received treatment. He will be held in custody for court.
