Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted Firearm in a Motor Vehicle

On August 21st at approximately 4:30 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of 18th Street North. Two loaded pistols were located in the vehicle. As a result of the investigation, two individuals from out of province —a 19-year-old male and a 23-year-old male—were arrested, charged, and held in custody pending a court appearance. Third and fourth individuals from Winnipeg, an 18-year-old male and a 23-year-old male, were also arrested and subsequently released on an Undertaking both with court dates of November 13^th.

All four individuals are receiving numerous firearms charges.

The driver, 23-year-old male from Calgary, did not have valid driver’s licence and was found to be wanted on both a Calgary Police and Regina Police Warrant for Arrest.

The vehicle was towed.
