On August 25th at approximately 2:05 AM, police responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence on Willowdale Crescent. Initial information suggested no criminal activity had occurred, and parties had dispersed without further issue. The building manager attended, and no disclosures were made at that time.

Later that morning, at 10:25 AM, a male attended the Brandon Police Service and reported that he had, in fact, been assaulted during the earlier incident. He advised that suspects had entered his apartment, attempted to strike him with a wine bottle, and physically assaulted him by punching him in the face and torso. The assault allegedly continued outside the apartment, during which one of the suspects used a fork as a weapon. Police later recovered the fork.

During the altercation, the victim’s phone—which also contained his identification—fell to the ground and was taken by the suspects. Later that day, the stolen phone was left at the residence of the victim’s sister, where the suspects entered without permission.

Surveillance footage was obtained, and the two primary suspects were identified and contacted. They later attended voluntarily, where they were arrested without incident.

A 22-year-old male has been charged with: Assault, Assault with a Weapon, Break and Enter and Commit Assault, Robbery with Violence and Unlawfully in a Dwelling.
