Intoxicated Man Arrested After Assaulting Officer in North End Business

Assault Peace Officer / Resist Arrest / Failure to Comply Undertaking

On September 29th, 2025, at approximately 7:20 p.m., police were called to a business in the 200 block of 18th Street North regarding an unwanted, highly intoxicated male who had been inside the store at that point for several hours and had fallen asleep on their couch. Upon police arrival, the 32-year-old male became aggressive, striking an officer and proceeded to resist arrest. He was taken into custody and transported to BPS detention cells. The male was held overnight to appear in court on September 30th, 2025.

Failure to Comply Probation / Theft Under $5000 / Resist Arrest

On September 30th at approximately 2:00 p.m., police responded to a report of a shoplifting incident at a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located the male suspect nearby. As police approached, the male dropped the bag he was carrying and attempted to flee on foot. He was apprehended after a foot pursuit. He had been in possession of $203 worth of stolen merchandise. Further investigation revealed the 38-year-old male was under court-ordered conditions not to attend the store. He was arrested and transported to Brandon Police Service detention cells, where he was held for court in the morning.

Expired License & Unstamped Tobacco leads to Possession of Meth Charge

On October 1st at 2:31 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop at 1st Street and Park Avenue. The driver, 57-year-old male, had an expired driver’s license. Police observed two packages of unstamped tobacco which led to the discovery of meth in the vehicle also. The driver was arrested and later released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of December 11th, 2025.
