Identity Fraud leads to Charges

In April of this year, Police received a complaint from the victim after he had discovered that his roommate had used his identity to fraudulently obtain a loan in his name. The investigation revealed that the roommate had falsified documents to receive a loan in the amount of $7,000.  The 28-year-old male suspect was charged with Fraud Over $5,000 and Identity Fraud and released on an Undertaking to appear in Court in January.

Warrants Executed

On Friday morning, October 31st, Police attended to a residence in the 300 block of 2nd St for a 911 call that was disconnected. Upon attending a 43-year-old male was found to have an outstanding Warrant for his arrest for Theft Under $5,000. He was held in the Brandon Police Service (BPS) cells to appear in Court in the morning.
