Pre-Dawn Disturbance Ends with Pair of Arrests
At approximately 1:20 a.m. on November 7th, 2025, police were called to a disturbance in the Westaway Bay area after reports of individuals banging on doors and looking through the window of a residence. It was said one individual was holding something suspicious.
Upon arrival, officers detained a 20-year-old male for investigation. During a safety pat-down, officers located a replica pellet gun in his hoodie pocket. When informed of his arrest, the male attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended after a brief pursuit. The male was breaching two Release Order conditions — a curfew violation and a prohibition on possessing weapons. He was transported to BPS detention cells and is scheduled to appear in court in the morning on November 7th, 2025.
A second individual, a 15-year-old male, was also located at the scene and was found in possession of a canister of bear spray. He was charged with Possession of a Weapon and released via Undertaking to a guardian. His court appearance is set for January 13th, 2026.
