Former Wheat King leaves the pro ranks, heads to University
Former Wheat King, Tyler Coulter is leaving the ECHL to attend the University of Calgary where he will suit-up for the Dinos hockey program. The forward had been skating with the Jacksonville Icemen where he had posted 4 points in 14 games this season. “I really enjoyed my time in Jacksonville, the fans were great and of course the weather is amazing” Coulter told bdnmb.ca. “Right now it is tough to get regular amounts of ice…so it’s time to play in the CIS with the University of Calgary where I will be getting top 6 or 9 ice time” added Coulter.
The Dinos are coached by Mark Howell, a one time coach in the Wheat King organization. Another former Wheat King, Jordan Papirny is one of the Dinos goalie.
