Brandon man arrested after allegedly pointing firearm at his mother

At approximately 2:00 a.m., a female from an apartment in the 300 Block of Louise Avenue called Police reporting that her son pointed a firearm at her. Officers attended and located the suspect as well as well as four other people inside the residence. A search of the residence recovered a sawed off .22 calibre rifle and a loaded magazine along with several machetes and knives. The 26-year-old male suspect was arrested for Possession of a Prohibited Firearm, Pointing a Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Unsafe Storage of a Firearm and Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition. The male was also found to be on a Firearm Prohibition Order. He was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center and is scheduled to appear in Court on Friday. A 47-year-old female located in the suite was found to be intoxicated and in Breach of an Undertaking. She was arrested and lodged at BCC and is scheduled to appear in Court on Friday. A 21-year-old female located in the suite was found to have an outstanding Warrant of Arrest for Breach of Probation and Fail to Attend Court. This female was released and is scheduled to attend Court in April. A 19-year-old male also located was found to have an outstanding Warrant of Arrest for Breach of Recognizance and Breach of Probation. This male was lodged at BCC and is scheduled to appear in Court on Friday. A 46-year-old intoxicated male was also located in the suite. He was found to be on a Recognizance and in Breach of several conditions of the Order. He was lodged at BCC and scheduled to appear in Court on Friday.
