BPS respond to a handful of assaults Sunday

Assault Causing Bodily Harm:
On April 20th 2018, Police received information that a female was punched in the face by her boyfriend resulting in a broken nose. When officers responded, the suspect fled prior to arrival however was located on Sunday afternoon. The 21-year-old man from Brandon was arrested for Assault Causing Bodily Harm, he was released and scheduled to attend Court in May. The female victim received medical treatment for injuries sustained and has been released from hospital.
Assault:
A 38-year-old female from Brandon was arrested on Sunday for two incidents of Assault. On April 20th, the ex common law husband of the female suspect reported that the suspect punched him in the face and investigation revealed that the suspect also scratched her 18-year-old son in the face. Medical attention was not required for either victim and the suspect was released to appear in Court in May.
At approximately 9:30 a.m., Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on Rideau Street. Investigators learned that a male bit his girlfriend on the chin and the 23-year-old man was arrested for Assault. The man was later released from Police custody and is scheduled to appear in Court in May. The female victim did not receive physical injuries requiring medical attention because of the assault.
A 39-year-old man from Brandon was arrested for Assault yesterday afternoon as a result of hitting the arm of a male and causing a cell phone to fall out of the victims hand. This incident is escalation of an ongoing dispute between the two men who are known to each other. The suspect is scheduled to appear in Court in June and the male victim was not physically injured because of the assault.
