Man arrested for allegedly driving drunk with 2 kids in the vehicle

At approximately 6:05 p.m., Police conducted a traffic stop in the 400 Block of 6th Street on a vehicle with no license plates and 5 occupants. The male driver of the vehicle displayed signs of being impaired and was transported to the Police Service where breath samples obtained were in excess of double the legal limit. The 23-year-old man was arrested for Impaired Driving and Drive Over 80 mg%. He was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center and is scheduled to appear in Court on Tuesday. An intoxicated 18-year-old male passenger in the vehicle was issued a ticket for having open liquor in a vehicle. He was released from Police custody. An intoxicated 24-year-old female passenger in the vehicle was arrested for Breach of the Peace and lodged at the Correctional Center. Her two children, ages 8 and 2 were also passengers in the vehicle and were turned over to Child and Family Services as there was no sober responsible adult available to care for them.
