The Manitoba Summer Fair returns to Brandon June 5 – 9 at the Keystone Centre with more music, more entertainment and more community partnerships.

“Major events like the Manitoba Summer Fair enrich our city and have a meaningful impact on lives in a number of different ways.” Said Ron Kristjansson, general manager at the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba. “We are always looking for opportunities to collaborate and support other community initiatives.”

The fair will host its fifth annual Canadian Citizenship ceremony on Wednesday, June 6 to kick off the week along with Brandon’s largest midway show presented by North American Midway Entertainment and an evening with random information masters, Trivia with Kate and Aaron.

The fair offers a variety of entertainment over the five days with daily shows by the West Coast Lumberjacks and NorthFIRE Circus. KidZone brings in the petting zoo, pony rides and more family entertainment with Sonshine and Broccoli, Doodles and Comedy Juggler, Darren Bedford.

Thursday afternoon will feature a senior’s tea and dance in the Dome Building, and Creative Arts competition judging in the UCT Pavillion. The weekend will include a horse show in the Westoba Ag Centre including one of only two Triple Point sanctioned fairs in North America for miniatures and Shetland ponies.

Beer Garden stage entertainment includes the Roulette Band from Sandy Bay First Nation, Whiskey River of Brandon, Dirt Road Pilots of Winnipeg along with other local artists playing through out the afternoons.

Other new partnerships for this year’s event include the Blue Hills Fibre Festival taking place on June 8 & June 9, meet and greet with the Wheat City Whiskey Jacks on Saturday, June 8, nondenominational church service immediately following the Cando Breakfast under the Domes, and game demonstration with PrairieCon on Sunday.
