‘Music in the Parks’ kicks off Tuesday
Brandon, MB – The City of Brandon’s Community Services Department is very pleased to announce that its popular Music in the Parks program will bring FREE music programming to three locations across the community this summer, beginning one week from today.
This year’s program kicks off Tuesday, June 4th in Princess Park with a performance by the always energetic Crocus Plains School student collective, CP Express, and promises an eclectic mix of performances each week through to the end of August.
While the bulk of this year’s performances are being featured in Princess Park in the heart of Brandon’s downtown, three weekly performances will be staged in Rideau Park at the new community pavilion space located at the far north end of the park. Preparations are also underway for two very special Thursday Music in the Parks performances to take place this summer at the newly-opened Festival Park at the Riverbank Discovery Centre – watch for details on those additional performance dates coming soon!
A full lineup of this year’s Tuesday Music in the Parks performances and corresponding locations can be found at www.brandon.ca/music. All shows begin at 7 p.m. and the public is encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket for outdoor music-listening comfort.
The City of Brandon’s Community Services Department extends its sincere thanks to all musical performers, sponsors, and audience members for their commitment to community building through live music.
