Brandon gymnast commits to a full ride NCAA Div 1 gymnastics scholarship
Brandon’s Quinn Skrupa started training gymnastics when she was only 18-months old (Tumble Bugs) at the Brandon Eagles Gymnastics Centre. All of her hard work and training over the years has lead the talented teenager, now a grade 12 student at Vincent Massey, to accept a full ride NCAA Division 1 gymnastics scholarship to Central Michigan University.
In conversation with bdnmb.ca earlier today, Quinn said one of the reasons her and her family selected Central Michigan University was that the school/coach made her feel like part of the family immediately. The coach also reached out to her on a weekly basis, provided a virtual tour of the campus/facility, and made her feel like she would be an important part of the program going forward. At the end of the day, she just felt like Central Michigan afforded her the opportunity to become the best gymnast she could be. Quinn is set to join Central Michigan University for the 21/22 school year, where she plans to study pre-optometry.
With scholarship in hand, Quinn continues her training in hopes of participating in the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo and the 2021 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. She has been a member of Canada’s Sr. National Team since 2019.
