Brandon male arrested allegedly in possession of a loaded, sawed off 20 gauge shotgun

At 2:00 pm on Saturday afternoon, a 911 caller reported a male in a residence on Cornell Bay who was intoxicated and had a gun in his possession. Officers attended and located a female in the residence who was intoxicated and causing a disturbance. She was arrested for Breach of Peace and lodged to be released when sober. When officers approached the residence, a man was observed at the side of the building with a shotgun in his hands. The man was taken into custody and found to have a loaded, sawed off 20 gauge shotgun. He had also severely damaged the interior of the residence and was breaching several conditions of a recognizance order. The man, a 19 year old Brandon resident, was lodged at Brandon Correctional and will appear in court on Sunday on charges of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public, and Breach of Recognizance.
