Brandon man dies after stab wound to neck, suspect charged

A 40 year old Brandon man is dead, and a 32 year old Winnipeg man is in custody after an early morning disturbance turned deadly. At approx. 3:05 AM Friday morning, Police and Fire/Paramedics were called to a residence in the 1800 block of Rosser Avenue, after a man was stabbed in the neck. The suspect fled on foot but was apprehended with the help of the police service dog unit. The victim was pronounced dead in hospital from the injuries he sustained.
The suspect has been remanded in custody to October 24, on charges of manslaughter and several breaches of court orders, including abstain from alcohol, not to possess weapons, and a curfew. It is believed the individuals were known to each other.
