New Summer Program LEGO WeDo 2.0 Summer Camp

Get ready for an unforgettable summer adventure that will ignite your child's imagination and fuel their passion for learning! We are thrilled to announce our immersive LEGO WeDo 2.0 Summer Camp, where creativity, building, and coding come together to create an educational experience like no other. The LEGO WeDo 2.0 Summer Camp offers an exciting and hands-on experience for children aged 8-12. This educational camp combines building with LEGO bricks and coding to teach STEM concepts in a fun and interactive way.  During the camp, your child will have the opportunity to:  Build: Using LEGO bricks, motors, and sensors, children will create various models under the guidance of experienced instructors. Step-by-step instructions will be provided, allowing them to build animals, vehicles, and machines. Their creativity will shine as they customize and modify their models.  Code: Once the models are built, children will bring them to life by coding using a visual programming language. With the help of a computer or tablet, they will learn to use the drag-and-drop interface to select programming blocks and arrange them in a sequence. This will enable their models to perform different actions, such as moving, making sounds, or responding to their surroundings.  Learn: The LEGO WeDo 2.0 Summer Camp provides a dynamic learning environment. Children will explore STEM principles, including gears, levers, pulleys, and sensors, while actively engaging in problem-solving, critical thinking, and logical reasoning. Instructors will guide them through the process, encouraging experimentation and collaboration with fellow campers.  The camp will be conducted in person, ensuring an immersive experience for your child. They will have the opportunity to interact with instructors and peers, fostering social connections and teamwork.  Join us at the LEGO WeDo 2.0 Summer Camp to ignite your child's imagination, develop their STEM skills, and create lasting memories. Limited spots are available, so secure your child's place today! To register or find out more information, please call 204-727-4669 or email ldambdn@mymts.net to register by July 02/23.  Prepare to witness your child's digital dreams turn into reality as they embark on this thrilling coding adventure. Vincent Massey High School Presents Culturama 2023

Vincent Massey High School Presents Culturama: A Vibrant Celebration of Cultural Diversity. Vincent Massey High School was thrilled for the return of Culturama, a spectacular two-day event that celebrates an array of cultures within our school community. On May 25th and 26th, Culturama offered a unique opportunity for students and staff to come together. As Culturama is all about embracing and appreciating the various cultures represented in our student body, the lunch hour was extended for these two special days, allowing everyone to fully celebrate our collective diversity. During the event, students and staff had the chance to sample cuisine, watch students perform cultural dances and songs, admire the beauty of traditional outfits, and explore intriguing displays from the participating countries. Vincent Massey is proud of the tremendous effort put forth by a large group of dedicated volunteers including over 170 students, 2S teachers and staff, Student Council, and Massey Nations. Together, they organized 13 incredible pavilions representing 23 countries. The library was abuzz with students in cultural attire serving food and sharing information from their displays. Meanwhile, the gym and theatre were packed with students watching the live performances. Culturama traces back to 2006, when Vincent Massey introduced Heritage Days. With four pavilions during the inaugural year, Vincent Massey was the first school in the Brandon School Division to host such a celebration. Over the years, it has grown exponentially, becoming an eagerly anticipated event that captures the spirit of unity and cultural pride. As described by Eleni Tellidis, one of the teachers organizing the event, “Culturama holds a special place in our hearts, and we are thrilled to bring it back after a three-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.” To ensure that everyone could enjoy the festivities, the event was live-streamed and can still be viewed by visiting https://www.voutube.com/Mvmtv4314/streams Let us explore, learn, and appreciate the rich culture that unites us all.
