Dean Brody concert announcement for the WMCA

Canadian country artist Dean Brody is headed to Brandon this fall as part of his "Right Around Here Tour 2023". The cross Canada tour kicks off October 10 in Victoria and is scheduled to conclude November 18 in London, ON. Brody will be performing at the WMCA in Brandon on Wednesday, October 25. Tickets for the Brandon show will be ON SALE (www.wmca.ca) Friday, June 2nd at 10 AM CST. Brody, who has played Brandon many times in the past, has multiple JUNO Awards (2) and CCMA Awards (16) to his credit.

Inside PrairieCon 2023

The 42 annual PrairieCon is taking place this weekend in the Lower Curling Club Lounge, the Upper Curling Club Lounge, and the Curling Club Ice Surface inside the Keystone Centre. PrairieCon is a weekend-long gaming convention held in Brandon, MB featuring games, tournaments, workshops, vendors, contests, and prizes. Facebook link. PrairieCon dates: Friday, May 26 – Sunday, May 28 Event hours: Friday doors open 12 noon, gaming starts 1pm, facility closes midnight. Summer Classes at the AGSM

jump into Summer Art Classes as the Arc Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba in July 2023! Registration is open for everyone on May 2Sth for daily classes & workshops filled with painting, pottery. drawing, cartooning, and much more! Children and Teens can make a splash in the studio this summer as they learn from talented artists and instructors. The AGSN has activities and art projects in an inspiring, creative, and supportive setting for learners ages 6 to I7 from July 3rd to the 28th. Full or half day classes ranging in length from 2-day workshops to 5-day long programs. Be sure to secure a spot in pottery classes for bids who love to stay busy and active in be large AGSN clay studios with hands-on creative activities. Also back by popular demand are be Harry Potter-themed classes with instructors Alyssa Boulton and Kourtney Barcel in Welcome to the Wizarding World and the World of JK Rowling featuring an array of new fantastical projects. Teens will have the unique opportunity/ to take their skills to the next level in advanced workshops with artists Chris Reid & Gerry Oliver. Touch-A-Truck Brandon 2023 is fast approaching

Touch-A-Truck Brandon returns to the grounds at the Keystone Centre on June 3, 2023. Touch-A-Truck Brandon is a unique fundraiser that is an interactive, outdoor, family friendly experience, allowing kids to “touch”, climb, explore and discover all kinds of vehicles in a safe environment. A large variety of trucks are on-hand every year including construction, farm, heavy-duty, and emergency vehicles. Once again there will be a QUIET HOUR from 9am-10am, free of sirens, music and honking for those who need it. There will also be demonstrations from local companies at 10:30am and 12:30pm as well. The cost is only $5 per person and payable in cash at the gate. Date/time: Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 9 AM – 4 PM.

New Summer Music Festival coming to Brandon

A new Summer Music Festival will be taking place in Brandon this July. Dubbed the " Salamander Summer Music Festival", the event will take place at Rideau Park (305 Park Street) on July 21 – 23, 2023 and features DJs, local bands, university artists, performance troupes and more! Among the artists announced as appearing to date include: House of Hex, DJ Dirt, DJ Red, Julianna Moore, Full Flannel Jacket, Vertigo/Matt Cory Band, Mitchell Makoons, Jan Ek, Attica Riots and more. The weekends lineup can be viewed here. In addition to the live musical performances, a number of activities and attractions will be onsite including a kids area, workshops, art installations, food trucks, beer gardens, and a vendor village.
