Brandon Santa Parade is BACK!

For the first time in 3 years, Santa will be making his annual visit to the Wheat City during the Brandon Santa Parade which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 19th @ 6:00pm.  A variety of floats will be on-hand along the parade route which covers several blocks around Rosser and Princess Avenues.  All float entries will be considered for several different judging categories including Best Parade Theme, Best Decorated Vehicle, People’s Choice and most original.

Route 10 Collective presents Concert for George

Route 10 Collective is a collection of Clear Lake area musicians. For eleven years, the Collective has presented sold out tribute shows of their favourite musical acts. Most notably Steely Dan, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan and Monterey Pop Festival. This year Concert for George Harrison is being presented. Complete with stellar vocals, and stinging musicianship, the Collective will play some of Harrison's most popular songs from the Beatles, the solo years, and the Traveling Wilburys, as well as deep cuts for the ears of the true aficionados. Brandon’s Haunted Forest; be prepared to sleep with 1 eye open

Bring the whole family for some spooky fun. Back for its 3rd season, the Haunted Forest (Bry-Mar RV Park & Campground) will offer thrill-seekers an experience that will leave them sleeping with one eye open. Starting October 27th, this unique outdoor experience entails walking through a dense forest where you will encounter spooky theatrical scenes, characters, and creatures. A number of new attractions will be added to this year's event, making it to the most Spooktacular ever. Bry-Mar RV Park & Campground is located 10 km east of Brandon on the Trans Canada Highway. Admission is by donation with proceeds going to benefit Weekend Warriors Canada. The Haunted Forest has raised over $6000 for local charities in the previous years.

Ribfest kicks off tomorrow in Brandon

Brandon’s popular Ribfest event takes place this weekend on the grounds at the Keystone Centre. Enjoy award winning BBQ from famous BBQ experts including ribs, brisket, pulled pork, chicken and more. Vincent Massey High School to present “Disney’s Descendants: The Musical”

Vincent Massey High School is proud to announce their upcoming production of the beloved next generation Disney channel original “Disney’s Descendants” the musical on November 10, 11, and 12, 2022 at the Western Manitoba Centennial Auditorium. Changes are afoot in the kingdom of Auradon! Here, all of Disney’s favorite heroes and heroines are living in peace, happily ever after. Meanwhile, the evil villains and troubled sidekicks have been banished to the Isle of the Lost, where they are stripped of their magic and powers. Ben, the beloved son of King Beast and Belle, is about to be crowned as King of Auradon and he has a radical idea. He decides to invite four trouble-making offspring of the most wicked villains to take their places as students at Auradon Prep. Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos--the children of Maleficent, Grimhilde, Jafar, and Cruella De Vil--come to Auradon with an evil plan of their own. They have been tasked with stealing the Fairy Godmother’s magic wand and restoring their parents to power. However, will they go through with the plan? Or do they have the potential to learn to be good? “Disney’s Descendants: The Musical” is based on the Disney Channel Original Movies and features the hit songs from the films. This is a family friendly show that is suitable for children of all ages. It features Vincent Massey students Danika Robb, Kaley Koroluk, Aaron Pasaporte, Jaden Colbourne, Ryan Degroot, Madi Bootsman, Roxy lurshynets, Manu Tarubal, Lucy MacPherson Blair, Gabby Milla, Luke MacPherson Blair, and 28 more VM students. Working with acclaimed soprano Naomi Forman as our vocal director, Mindy Halliday as our choral director, and the owner/ instructor of Dance Images Linda Kearns as our choreographer, students are thrilled to bring the modern classic to life on the Western Manitoba Centennial Auditorium stage. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for students and seniors, and $12 for children under 12.
