A family-friendly petting zoo has opened near Brandon

The FunSize Farmyard (near Shilo) is a brand new petting zoo offering a hands-on experience for the young in a unique farm like atmosphere. It's an ideal location for animal lovers of all ages to meet their furry and feathery friends which includes horses, goats, chickens, ducks, quail, guinea pigs, rabbits and a donkey. They are open 10-5 daily, except Mondays. Currently they are offering 1.5 hour timeslots ( $5pp no petting, or $8pp including petting) throughout that time period. Your time must be booked ahead of your visit, although they encourage people to phone if they are in the area and looking for something to do. There is always the possibility of an opening. The FunSize Farmyard is currently allowing 3 families per session. They hope to be able to increase that as time goes on and they figure out exactly the demands on the business. In addition to the petting zoo there is a play structure you are welcome to use and a short walking path with hidden Gnomes for the kids to spot. Additional information can be found on their Facebook page here.

Enjoy an enriching escape, without spending too much time in the car simply by taking a quick road trip to Killarney, MB. Located approximately an hour south of Brandon, the community has plenty to offer making it well worth the drive. One of the town's best-known landmarks is The Beach Hut, a seasonal restaurant serving outrageously good hamburgers (made from Manitoba grown meat) and hand-cut fries. The menu features a large variety of burgers, salads, wraps, appetizers, poutines, & more. Before you leave be sure to try one of their many ice cream flavours or treats as you play a round of mini-golf. If you're more of a night-owl, you may want to plan your trip around a Friday or Saturday night to catch a flick at the recently re-opened Shamrock Drive-In.

Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba announces Drive-In At The Dome

Join the Provincial Exhibition of Brandon for two fun filled evenings (July 23 & July 24) as the organization earlier today released details of their latest fundraising effort, Drive-In At The Dome. Guests will enjoy the movie Wonder Woman 1984 on a large 16’ x 24’ screen setup in the Keystone Centre parking lot. They will be able to accommodate 200 cars each night. Tickets to the show are selling fast.  Friday seems to be selling out very quickly and Saturday is already almost half way sold, a representative of the Provincial Ex told bdnmb.ca. The price is $30 and that reserves one parking spot and gets you a “snack pack” which includes 2 popcorns and 2 drinks. There will be additional popcorn and drinks available for purchase at the event as well.  Doors open at 8pm and the movie will begin at dusk (roughly 9:30-10). It will be rush parking, so get there early if you want a spot near the front! You can purchase your snack pack to reserve your spot by calling 204-726-3590 or emailing info@provincialex.com.
