Rockin’ the Fields announces 2020 festival lineup

This summer, Rockin’ the Fields of Minnedosa is proud to continue it’s legacy as “Canada’s Premier Classic Rock Festival” on July 31-August 2, 2020 in Minnedosa, Manitoba. For those in attendance, they will witness the most bands at the festival in RFM history, as well as the most diverse lineup. Rockin the Fields 2019 was another successful year, organizers hope to top that once again with another stellar lineup for 2020. The lineup features all-star rock acts that are sure to have your fists in the air. Opening our Friday night main stage is big hair glam rock's; Jack Russell's Great White. Followed by Foghat and Mark Farner's American Band (the music of Grand Funk Railroad). Returning to RFM to close out the Club Regent Casino & Event Centre main stage Friday night will be Nazareth. The party doesn’t stop there, Saturday night’s Club Regent Casino & Events Centre main- stage features Default reuniting with Dallas Smith for this one time show, followed by Finger Eleven. The end of our Saturday night will be rocked by Toronto's Our Lady Peace, arguably one of Canada's most successful rock bands. Just when you think it couldn’t possibly get any better, we will prove you wrong once again. Sunday night features timeless act Doug & the Slugs, followed by Nick Gilder & Sweeney Todd, and Aldo Nova. Once the sun has set, Loverboy will throw a party like no other as they close out Rockin' the Fields 2020 on the Club Regent Casino & Events Centre main stage Sunday night. The Heritage Co-op Hilltop Stage features high-energy tribute acts such as Eh to Zed, Frankie and the Poor Boys, Filthy Lucare and Canada's best super-group Toque. Camping is available and encouraged all weekend long, with bars, shops, vendors and activities on site. For 2020 shuttle bus service will once again be offered to and from the festival grounds from Brandon. 9th Annual Brandon Beer Tasting Festival

This year marks the 9th Annual Brandon Beer Tasting Festival, presented by the Sunset Rotary Club of Brandon. This is a well-established event showcasing over 100 types of beer. They have sold out for the past two years and tickets to this year's event are said to be moving very fast. The event will be held at the Victoria Inn on March 21, 2020. Proceeds for this event go to support the YWCA Westman Women's Shelter and Brandon and Area charities. Tickets are $30 - available at all Brandon Liquor Stores. Spring Comedy Tour in support of the Brandon Humane Society

The Human Condition Spring Comedy Tour makes a stop in Brandon, MB to support local charity the Brandon Humane Society After a very successful run last September The Human Condition Comedy Tour are doing it again! This coming March three comedians (Scott Belford, Adam Mac and Scott Porteous) will be touring in Western Canada to raise awareness and funds for various different local charities. Just announced* Nelson Mayer (who recently won 2020 Comedian of the North Contest) will be a special guest for this show. On March 12th (at The 40) the comedians will arrive in Brandon to support local charity the Brandon Humane Society. Best Picture Winner at The Oscars, PARASITE, this weekend at The Evans

Parasite, the first-ever non-English-language film to win Best Picture, will be shown this weekend at the Evans Theatre in Brandon. The movie also won an Oscar for best director, original screenplay, and international feature. The Evans Theatre is located on the campus of Brandon University, in the George T. Richardson Building. Dakota Nation Winterfest is the largest Indigenous sport and cultural event of its kind all under one roof. The event is being held inside the Keystone Centre. Now in it’s 48th year the festival encompasses activities and events for all age groups including a square dance competition, talent show, wacipi, basketball, volleyball, and hockey. BDNMB.CA was on-hand Saturday to capture the following images that we wanted to share with our followers. This year's event ends Sunday, February 2nd.
