Introducing "Buff's Meaty Goodies", a food truck serving - you guessed it - meat inspired dishes for the hungry food truck connoisseur. While new to the food truck scene, the truck will have no shortage of hungry fans lining up to try their signature burger made with Buff’s homemade sausage patty and cheese. Other menu items include a schnitzel sandwich (pork schnitzel pressed sandwich with cheese, mushrooms & special sauce), a Sam Sandwich (pork and ham pressed sandwich with pickles, cheese and mustard), BBQ pork bun, and mini corn dogs. Sure to fill your belly, Buff's Meaty Goodies will me making their first appearance at Brandon's Food Truck Warz this September 13-15.

Serena Ryder is coming to Brandon on December 10 for a concert at the WMCA. The Toronto singer/songwriter has won multiple Juno awards including Best New Artist of the Year, Single of the Year, and Artist of the Year. Her single “Stompa” is 4x platinum in Canada. What I Wouldn't Do, Electric Love, and Weak In The Knees are other notable singles. Tickets go on-sale June 24 at 10:00am. CFB Shilo is hosting its annual Canada Day Celebrations starting at 4pm. The day starts with a number of family activities including face-painting and henna tattoos, inflatables, local bands, a beer garden, a food alley, and a family movie (Wonderpark). The CWE will also be hosting a wrestling card featuring WWE Legend The Genius Lanny Poffo. The wrestling show gets underway at 8:30pm inside the Community Centre Annex (Building L25) Tete Du Point Rd. Doors open at 7:30pm. A fireworks show is to follow at 10:45pm. The new inflatable water park is certain to provide many hours of entertainment this summer for the residents of Brandon and visitors alike. The first thing you will notice upon entering the park is the size of a few of the inflatables...they are HUGE. The design/layout is well thought out with tons of seating areas, washrooms, green space and garbage cans. Amenities on the grounds include storage lockers, change rooms, hand-wash stations, food concessions and more. The park is located on the grounds of the Keystone Centre and is open from June 14th until July 28th • Daily • 11am-8pm (Weather Permitting). The City of Brandon Community Services Department and the YMCA of Brandon are pleased to offer the 2019 Community Outdoor Aquatics Program as follows: Beginning this Saturday, June weekend hours of operation (June 15th & 16th and June 22nd & 23rd) of 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. will be offered at Stanley Park Spray Park, Kin Park Spray Park, Westridge Spray Park and Rideau Park Spray Park. 7-day a week hours of operation will then commence on Saturday, June 28th, with hours of operation of 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. through the month of July and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. through the month of August. (Stat Holiday hours of 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.) Entry into all of Brandon’s spray parks are FREE! Meanwhile, finishing touches are still being put on the brand new spray park located at Valleyview Community Centre, with hours of operation to be announced soon!   The community can also look forward to the opening of the Kinsmen Pool (located at 411 Park Street) on Monday, June 17th. Admission fees at the pool are $3.50 per child, $5 per adult, and $11 for a family to a maximum of 5 people. Hours of operation at the Kinsmen Pool are: June: 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays & 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends July & August: 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. (7 days a week) However, due to unforeseen issues that have arisen and out of an abundance of caution for public safety, the City of Brandon will NOT be opening the Kiwanis/YMCA/Keystone Pool (located at 13th Street and Southern Avenue) at this time. More information on the pool’s status will be released in the coming weeks.
