“Jake’s Gift”, a play by Julia Mackey is coming to Brandon

“Jake’s Gift” is proudly presented by the Royal Canadian Military Museum (RCA Museum) based at CFB Shilo, Manitoba.  Jake’s Gift is a moving story of a WW2 veteran’s reluctant return to Juno Beach and powerful tribute to our veterans. This surprisingly funny drama has received rave reviews and has captured the hearts of Canadians across the country. Juno Productions recently celebrated the 12th anniversary of the first public performance of “Jake’s Gift”. It has been performed over 871 times. Jake’s Gift plays at the Lorne Watson Recital Hall at Brandon University School of Music 270 – 18th Street, Brandon, Manitoba Friday, October 18th, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $15.00 (students) and $25.00 (adults). Evans Theatre opens for the season this weekend

The Evans Theatre opens for the season (September to April) this weekend. Two different movies will be featured including A Dogs Purpose and A Dogs Journey. All proceeds from the opening weekend will be shared among three local charities: Brandon Humane Society, Funds for Furry Friends and Strays That Can’t Pay. The Evans Theatre is located on the campus of Brandon University, in the George T. Richardson Building).  All seats are only $6. Meandher Creek Pumpkin Patch opens tomorrow

Meandher Creek Pumpkin Patch, located in Oak Lake, opens for the season tomorrow at noon. They offer a variety of fun family ticketed attractions including an air cannon, corn trails, a duck race, horse-drawn hayrides, a haunted barn, mini golf, and a zip-line. Gate admission is only $6 and includes access to numerous attractions like the giant corn box, a giant bale pyramid, a giant sand box, and pictures with the pumpkins. Parking is free and a concession is available on weekends. School tours are available Thursdays and Fridays while birthday parties are available on Saturdays and Sundays. Queen fans rejoice! We Will Rock You is coming to Westoba Place, January 26, 2020. While WE WILL ROCK YOU is a quirky, eccentric and heartfelt story of outsiders, it’s also a creative cautionary tale for the cyberage. It reflects the scale and spectacle that marked Queen’s live performances and earned the band its pinnacle position in rock history.
