The 3rd annual Touch-A-Truck Brandon event (Saturday, June 1, 2019) will be held on the SW corner of the Keystone Centre grounds. Touch-A-Truck Brandon is a unique fundraiser that is an interactive, outdoor, family friendly experience, allowing kids to “touch”, climb, explore and discover all kinds of vehicles in a safe environment. A large variety of trucks are on-hand every year including construction, farm, heavy-duty, and emergency vehicles. Once again there will be a QUIET HOUR from 9am-10am, free of sirens, music and honking for those who need it. The cost is only $5 per person and payable in cash at the gate. The Westman Dreams for Kids Children's Country Fair will be changing locations in 2019. This year organizers have announced that they will be setting up at the beautiful Riverbank Discovery Center on June 2nd from 10am-4pm. Royal LePage has also joined the annual event as the presenting sponsor.  Children's Country Fair is a free event for families in Westman featuring a variety of activities and entertainment for everyone of all ages. Last year the event saw over 4,000 people take in all the fun. Culinary Arts and Hotel & Restaurant Management students research and prepare 40 fabulous wine and food pairings from around the world for an evening of culinary delight. Tickets to this year's event are $75. Maximum of four tickets per caller. Tickets are non-refundable. The 2019 Royal Manitoba Winter Fair starts tomorrow and once again there is an abundance of entertainment attractions planned throughout the event. The Sunrise Credit Union Sunrise Breakfast kicks off the the festivities tomorrow morning from 6:30 AM - 9:00 AM. The cost is only $5 and you also get to stay the day at the fair FOR FREE! Fair organizers will keep things buzzing throughout the week with numerous different attractions scheduled throughout the facility. From music, children's activities, or variety shows there are plenty of options available for fair guests of all ages. The Magic of Aaron Matthews, Doodles the Clown, Craig Douglas Comedy Juggler, and Illusionist Jesse Lewis are all scheduled to perform at different times throughout the day inside the MB Hydro Amphitheatre and the MNP Hall Shur-Gro Stage. We live in a time where it is acceptable to hide behind a keyboard and anonymously accuse others of anything we want. No evidence is needed for accusations, and this can utterly ruin one's reputation whether the claims are found to be true or not. This is not unlike our infamous Puritans who are well-known for the Salem Witch Trials. Whether its trolling, The Red Scare, or witch hunts, this play's relevancy will always be applicable in a world where people make false accusations in order to gain more power for themselves. Set to modern musical selections by artists such as Kesha, Pink, Rag'N'Bone Man and Ed Sheeran, we are hoping the message of Miller's classic play is extended through this popular music.
