Local clothing line set to launch in Brandon this weekend

Baby Bump owner Adrienne McNish along with the former owner of Timber and Tuilps Sarah Norosky, will be unveiling a new clothing line over the weekend in Brandon at Baby Bump.  The company is called “Silly Goat Apparel” and will be offering four products at the launch: rompers, summer bonnets, bibs and crew neck sweatshirts. “We are really excited to show everyone what we’ve been working very hard on behind the scenes.” said co-owner Sarah Norosky. “This product has been created locally in Brandon from the logo design itself, to our seamstress, to the screen printing. This new line will offer fun, quality clothing, with a strong emphasis on comfort for babies, children and women.” The first look at the new clothing line will take place at Baby Bumps 2nd Annual Spring Market this Saturday, April 27th from 10am – 4pm.  Baby Bump is located at 728 – 18th street in the Thomas Mall.  This year’s event will feature 11 local artisans that will be located at both Baby Bump and extending to the adjacent Carolyn’s Floral Designs.  The Batchery Ice Cream Shop will also be on location for the event.  All businesses will be joining forces to help raise donations for the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign, which gives kids the opportunities they need to live healthier, happier lives, today and in the future. Following the Spring Market, Silly Goat Apparel products can be purchased exclusively at Baby Bump and through their online store at www.thebabybump.ca . Astoria Pizza closed for business

Astoria Pizza is now closed for business. The restaurant re-opened in Brandon on September the 12th, 2018. A sign was placed on the front door earlier tonight. No other information is available at this time.

Murray Chev Olds places their own unique spin on supporting the Winnipeg Whiteout

The NHL"s Stanley Cup playoffs have begun and all throughout Brandon there are examples of Brandon businesses supporting the Winnipeg Jets and the Winnipeg Whiteout. Many of the local bars and restaurants are offering special deals during Jets games. Murray Chevrolet Cadillac Buick GMC Brandon, a local auto dealer, have placed their own unique spin on supporting the Winnipeg Whiteout. The dealership re-arranged their lot to showcase their white vehicle inventory so the vehicles are featured prominently along the Richmond store front. The showroom has also received the same Whiteout inside the facility.

Local salon changes name, rebrands

Brittany Perreaux & Jill Landry took over operation of Alieshia's Salon & Spa (120-9th street) on April 24, 2017. The duo have now rebranded and renamed the popular salon to make it their own and something they can stand behind. "Alieshia's Salon & Spa was an amazing place to begin, and we were happy to represent an already amazing business, but we are over the moon excited to make it our own with a name that we LOVE!" quoted Brittany & Jill. OAK+IVY represents their rustic and earthy vibe, and they wanted a name that stood behind what they are about and what their esthetic is in the salon. As part of the rebrand, they have also released a new website oakandivysalon.ca

Westman Cash Services opening soon in Brandon

Westman Cash Services will be opening their doors early next week for clients in Brandon and the Westman Area. Payday advances and cheque cashing will be among the financial services offered at the business. In the future they also play to add a money transfer service as well.
