New Management for Oak Island Resort and Golf Course

Four Seasons and Mulligan's Ventures Ltd. are excited to announce that effective March 1, 2017 Mulligan's has taken over Oak Island Resort. Four Seasons is proud of the business that has been established over the years and the valuable relationships that have been formed. Four Seasons and staff have worked hard over the past 12 years building on the vision of the Henderson family to create an escape for families to enjoy and create lasting memories. The construction of the Les Furber championship 18 hole golf course and expansion of the campground to 400 fully serviced sites including pools has attracted many people to the Island. There have been many new homes constructed over the years and the Island continues to grow. We are excited for the future of the Island as a family destination. Trevor McGill’s passion is in turf grass management, golf course management, and branding and marketing. Mulligan's intends to carry on Four Seasons vision of creating an escape for our customers and is looking forward to the future. Oak Island Golf Course Changes, Farewell Tour Hitting Stage at The 40

Local golf entrepreneur Trevor Mcgill will be taking on a large project this spring. BDNMB.CA has learned that Oak Island Golf, roughly 35 minutes west of Brandon, will be leased to Trevor and his partners for the upcoming season, and beyond. Trevor currently owns/operates Mulligans Driving Range & Practice Centre and is a Certified USGTF Level 3 Golf teaching Professional. Kenny Shields and Streetheart Farewell Tour Kenny Shileds and Streetheart, will bring their Farewell Tour to The 40 on April the 15th. Streetheart, one of Canada's premiere Classic rock acts, have recorded a total of six studio albums and one double live album. Their string of hits include “Action”, “Hollywood”, “Under My Thumb”, “Look In Your Eyes”, “What Kind of Love Is This”, “One More Time” and “Snow White” The show is being billed as their final show ever in Brandon. One Brandon Business Closes, Another Set to Open It’s Doors

Krevco Lifestyles in Brandon has closed their doors, as of February 28th. Krevco, best known for being a swimming pool builder and supplier of hot tubs & spas, also sold patio furniture, fireplaces, bbqs, and fitness equipment. The 14,220 sq foot retail space, located 1240-18th St, is currently listed for sale with a local Realtor for a smooth $1,840,000. Growers N' Smokers is a retail store that will be focusing on the indoor hydroponic gardening side of medical cannabis. They will also sell herbal vaporizers, pipes, papers, and bongs for the consumption of herbs. The grand opening date is set for March 17th & 18th. A wedding dress sale, Opportunity Bridal, which travels to cities throughout Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatoon and Alberta is going to be setting up a one day pop-up store in Brandon. The sale is slated to take place at the Keystone Centre on Sunday, May the 7th. Brandon Man, 25, Charged with Sexual Assault and Sexual Interference of 14 Year Old Girl

Brandon Police Service Media Release February 23, 2017 SEXUAL ASSAULT / SEXUAL INTERFERENCE As a result of an ongoing investigation from September 2016, it was revealed that a 25-year-old man was involved in an inappropriate sexual relationship with a 14-year-old female. On Wednesday, the man was arrested and charged with Sexual Assault and Sexual Interference. The man will appear in Court on Thursday. THEFT UNDER $5000 On February 7th 2017, a male stole a bottle of Crown Royal from a business in the 1600 Block of 18th Street. The male was captured on video surveillance and subsequently identified. On Wednesday afternoon, the 20-year-old male from Brandon was located and arrested for Theft Under $5000. The male was released to attend Court in April. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});     Brandon Police Service Media Release February 24, 2017 SEXUAL EXPLOITATION As a result of on investigation which began on February 16th 2017, a 60 year old male from Brandon was charged with Sexual Assault which consisted of the suspect touching a female youth in an inappropriate manner. Through the course of the investigation a second victim was identified. This act consisted of the suspect exposing his genitials and making the victim touch him.The male suspect then told the victim not to tell anyone. Both incidents involved youth who were in the care of the male suspect. On Thursday the male was charged with Sexual Exploitation, Invitation to Sexual Touching, Exposure to Person Under 16 years of age and Obstructing Justice. The male was released to appear in Court in Court in April. THEFT UNDER $5000 On Thursday afternoon, Police responded to a business in the 900 Block of 18th Street North after an employee reported a male attempted to leave the business with a quantity of items without paying. When approached, the male dropped the items and fled however was located in the area by Police. A 47 year old man from Brandon was arrested for Theft Under $5000 and released to attend Court in April.
