Montgomery seeking PC bid

James Montgomery has envisioned for a while now he’d once again run for public office after a positive experience in the 2018 City of Brandon council election. “The time is right for me and my family to take the next step,” said Montgomery, a longtime Brandon resident who is seeking nomination for the Progressive Conservative Party of Manitoba in the Constituency of Brandon West. “The best move for me currently is to serve the community that I love, so I’ve decided to put my name forward.” Montgomery, originally from Carman, MB, is well-known in the Brandon community after working with the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba, Brandon Riverbank Inc., and most recently with the RM of Cornwallis, and his approachable, positive attitude is what he believes residents of Brandon-West can expect from him as their MLA should he have the opportunity take office. “I will continue to be the person that this community has known for the past 14 years,” Montgomery added. “My commitment to community service and volunteerism is unwavering. I will always respect those who disagree with me and I strongly believe we can disagree with each other while respecting the dignity of all of our neighbors.” Montgomery’s political experience includes being the primary health care attendant for former Member of Parliament, Steven Fletcher and Constituency Assistant to former Member of Parliament, Merv Tweed. Montgomery has volunteered on many municipal, provincial and federal election campaigns in the past and looks forward to running in the 2023 Provincial Election to retain the seat for the Manitoba PC Party to represent the people of Brandon West.
