PSD Blink assists police in locating illicit drugs

On September 6, 2022 shortly before 5:00 pm, police conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of Middleton Ave. Investigation led police to deploy PSD Blink who assisted her handler and police in locating illicit drugs within the vehicle.
Further investigation into the vehicle led police to locate and seized 4 ounces of cocaine with a street value of $8000, hundreds of unlabeled pills believed to be OxyContin, Canadian currency, a .22 caliber GSG 1911 handgun which was reported stolen in 2019, a .22 caliber magazine with ammunition, and over 90 .22 caliber rounds.
The 26-year-old male from Saskatchewan was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service. He appeared in court on September 7, 2022 on charges of:
Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking X2,
Possession of Proceeds of Crime,
Careless Storage of a Firearm,
Careless Storage of Ammunition,
Possession of a Weapon,
Possession of a Weapon Knowing its Possession it Unauthorized,
Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted Weapon in a Vehicle,
Possession of Restricted Firearm with Ammunition,
And Possession of a Restricted Weapon Obtained by Crime.
