Suspect Arrested Following Gas Drive-Off on 6th Street

Theft Under $5000 On December 8, 2025, police responded to a report of a gas drive away from a business in the 600 block of 6th street.  Security footage assisted in identifying the suspect who was located and arrested during a traffic stop on January 10, 2026.  The 41-year-old male was released to appear in court on March 16, 2026, on a charge of Theft Under $5000. Robbery On January 9, 2026, at approximately 3:30 pm, police responded to a report of a female who was assaulted.  The suspect struck the victim in the head and stole her sunglasses near the 800 block of Rosser Ave.  The victim was not seriously injured, and the suspect was located and arrested nearby.  The 39-year-old female was lodged and later released to appear in court on March 16, 2026, on a charge of Robbery.

Brandon Police Service Seeking Public Assistance in Stabbing Investigation

The Brandon Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in solving a stabbing incident that occurred in the early morning hours of December 27, 2025. At approximately 4:14 a.m., a 25-year-old male was stabbed at Cornell Bay, sustaining serious injuries to his abdomen. EMS attended the scene and transported the victim to hospital, where he received treatment for his critical condition. This incident remains under active investigation. Police are asking anyone with information related to this event to contact the Brandon Police Service at 204-729-2345, or Crime Stoppers at 204-727-TIPS (8477). Tips can also be submitted online through the Crime Stoppers website. All tips remain anonymous. Tipsters whose information leads to the solution of a crime may be eligible for a financial reward of up to $2,000.

Brandon RCMP investigation uncovers over $150K in stolen property

On November 3, 2025, at approximately 8:30 am, Brandon RCMP received a report that a number of items were stolen from a property just outside of Brandon. The victim advised police that between the evening of October 31, 2025, and the morning of November 1, 2025, various pieces of construction equipment were stolen from an area off Provincial Road 270 and Highway 1, north of Brandon. Equipment, including a skid steer and cargo trailer, were missing along with numerous other items. The investigation led officers to a residential property near PR 270 and Road 87 West where they located the stolen skid steer. A male and female on the property were arrested without incident. Brandon RCMP along with Manitoba RCMP Police Dog Services, later searched the entire property and located multiple stolen items. This included a snowmobile, utility trailer, boat and boat trailer, various construction signs, and a golf cart. Officers believe the value of the recovered items total approximately $150,000 and were stolen from property in and around the Brandon/Westman area as far back as 2021. The two people arrested at the scene, Gary Dyck, 45, and Jeanine Emond, 42, both from RM of North-Cypress-Langford have been charged with: • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 x 11 They have been remanded into custody. Officers are working to return property back to their original owners. The investigation continues.

Youth Charged Following Pepper Spray Incident at Brandon Shoppers Mall

Assault with a Weapon / Administer Noxious Substance On January 7th at 5:13 p.m., police were called to the Brandon Shoppers Mall regarding a fight outside a store, during which one individual was pepper-sprayed. Two suspects fled the scene but were apprehended in the area of the cemetery. Following the investigation, a 14-year-old male youth was arrested and charged. He was later released on an Undertaking with a court date of March 17, 2026. ++ Assault Charges / Failure to Comply Probation On January 7th at approximately 6:13 a.m., police were dispatched to the 600 block of Pacific Avenue for a report of an assault in progress. Officers arrived promptly and located a 28-year-old female victim in the lobby who had sustained injuries. Emergency Medical Services was also on scene and provided immediate care to the victim and subsequently transported her to hospital. The 21-year-old male suspect was located by police outside the female’s apartment door. He raised his arms and was arrested without incident. Police secured the residence and confirmed the safety and well-being of the two children present. The children were cared for by appropriate authorities, and a family friend was able to remain with them to provide support. A hatchet and a knife were recovered at the scene. The male was found to be bound by a Probation Order prohibiting contact with the female, attendance at her residence, and possession of any weapons. The male who was held in BPS detention cells to attend court the evening of January 7th, 2026, is facing charges of Assault (x2 – Mother and older child), Assault by Choking, Assault with a Weapon, and Failure to Comply with Probation (x4).

The Brandon Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating this person who is: “WANTED BY POLICE”: Scott Crawford FOR Assault with a Weapon / Failure to Comply Probation. CRAWFORD is a 34-year-old male, who is wanted in connection with an assault and failure to comply probation charge that occurred on December 6, 2025, at a residence in the 1300 block of 7th Street. CRAWFORD had attended the residence, refused to leave when asked to do so, and threw a box at a female hitting her in the chest and shoulder.  CRAWFORD is on court orders not to have contact with the female without her ongoing consent.
