Animal Cruelty Charge laid against 27 year-old male

Source: BPS News Release A 27 year-old male was criminally charged with injuring or endangering an animal after an investigation, initiated by BPS Animal Control Officers, revealed that he was responsible for acquiring and injuring domesticated animals, mostly felines.  The accused was released on appropriate police imposed conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on August 15th.

Kinsmen Pool Opening Postponed

Due to mechanical issues, the Kinsmen Pool’s opening will be postponed. Crews are working on getting the issues fixes as soon as possible. In the meantime, residents are encouraged to enjoy the Spray Parks and Paddle Pools that opened earlier this week or visit Brandon’s Community Sportsplex Pool. “CRIME STOPPERS WANTED” for: June 10th, 2022 The Brandon Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating this person who is: “WANTED BY POLICE” Blair William ANDERSON (49 yrs)  FOR Failing to Attend Court (Drug and Weapons Related) On January 11th, 2022, Brandon Police conducted a search warrant at the residence of Blair ANDERSON in relation to a drug trafficking investigation.  Officers located methamphetamine, fentanyl, and a firearm inside.  Blair ANDERSON was charged for firearms offences and later failed to attend court.  On May 20th, 2022, a warrant of arrest was issued for Blair ANDERSON as his current whereabouts is unknown. ***************** If you have any information as to the whereabouts of this person or anyone else “Wanted by Police” you are asked to contact Brandon Crime Stoppers @ 204-727-TIPS (8477), www.brandoncrimestoppers.com or by texting BCSTIP+your message to CRIMES (274637).  Crime Stoppers does not subscribe to Call Display.  Your call is not recorded and your identity will remain anonymous.  Crime Stoppers will pay up to $2000.00 cash for information that leads to the solution of a crime. ****************************************************************** CRIME OF THE WEEK for June 10rd, 2022 The Brandon Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in solving a; Theft Under $5000 On June 6th, 2022, at 3pm, police were called to a business in the 900’ block of 18th Street North.  A male suspect had stolen clothing from the business and fled in a blue GMC pickup truck.  The male had a small tattoo on the left side of his neck and one above his left eye.  A picture of the suspect is attached to this release.

Additional charges laid against ATM theft suspects

Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release **Update to ATM theft from June 6th (Monday)** Both suspects involved in the ATM theft from June 6 were arrested at BCC and additional charges were laid for a previous incident in which they attempted to steal the ATM from a business on the north hill on April 19.  As they remain in custody, they will appear June 9, 2022, in court for the additional charges.

Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release At 4:14am, police responded to an alarm at a business in the 2000’ block of Lyndale Drive.  Upon arrival police observed a truck backed inside the store with the front door/glass completely out.  The truck exited and was dragging the ATM behind it which broke free as the vehicle turned south.  The suspect vehicle continued south out of town and attempted to make a right turn at Ferguson Road where it went into the south ditch and became stuck in a creek bank.  A 27 year old male suspect was arrested at the vehicle while a second suspect fled on foot.  The second suspect, a 34 year old male, was arrested just before 8:00am in the area.  It was determined the suspects had stolen the vehicle involved from a business in the 4800’ block of Victoria Ave East sometime overnight.  It is believed these two individuals are responsible for numerous crimes throughout southwestern Manitoba and the Brandon Police Service Major Crime Unit will be working with other law enforcement agencies as the investigation continues.
