Arrest Warrant – Breach of Undertaking, Carry Concealed Weapon, Possess Weapon Dangerous, Breach Of Undertaking x 4, Breach Of Probation On December 28th, 2025 at approximately 1:05 PM, Members of the Brandon Police Service conducted a walk-through of a business located in the 000 block of 10th street. A male was observed inside who was subject of an arrest warrant for Breach of Undertaking. Once Members had taken the male into custody, a search incidental to arrest yielded a sawed-off .22 rifle with ammunition. The 36-year-old male was arrested and held to appear for Court on December 29th, 2025. Protective Detention and Care of Intoxicated Persons Act On December 28th, 2025 at approximately 5:10 PM Police received a called about an intoxicated male causing issues at a business located in the 3300 block of Victoria Avenue. The intoxicated 38-year-old male was arrested and lodged at the Brandon Police Service detention unit to be released once sober. Arrest Warrant – Breach of Release Order, Fail to Attend Court On December 28th, 2025 at approximately 8:25 PM, employees from a business located in the 100 block of Victoria Avenue east reported a female was inside who had stolen from the business prior. Members attended and it was learned that the female was subject of an arrest warrant for Breach of Release Order and Failing to Attend Court. The 41-year-old female was arrested and held to appear for Court on December 29th, 2025.  Breach of Undertaking x 2 On December 28th, 2025 at approximately 8:52 PM, 911 radio dispatch operators received a call from a Brandon resident stating that there was someone inside her residence who should not be. Police attended and discovered a male hiding behind a furnace in the basement who was subject to conditions to not attend the residence or communicate with the female 911 caller. As a result, the 47-year-old male was arrested and held to appear for Court on the morning of December 29th, 2025.

Six Arrested in 24 Hours as Police Respond to Multiple Intoxication Disturbances

Over the past 24hrs, 5 people were reported to be causing disturbances in various locations throughout the city.  The suspects were found to be intoxicated when arrested.  All 5 were lodged for their safety and to prevent the continuation of their respective offences.  They will be released when they are sober. A sixth intoxicated male was found causing a disturbance at the Shoppers Mall.  When he was located, he was found to be bound by a court ordered condition not to consume alcohol.  He was charged for breaching this condition and released for court once he was sober.

Potential suspect identified in theft of packages

Break & Enter On Thursday December 25th, police received a report of a Break & Enter to a residence in the 1200 block of 12th St, that occurred overnight on Christmas Eve. Suspects gained entry from the rear of the residence and stole a laptop computer, a cheque book and some alcohol.  No suspects have been identified.  This incident is still under investigation. Theft of packages On December 24th & 25th, police received several reports of delivered packages being stolen from front steps in the River Heights area as well as on Rosser Ave between 2400 – 3400 blocks.  A potential suspect has been identified; however, no charges have been laid as of yet and this matter remains under investigation.

Robbery with Violence, 17 year old female arrested

Robbery with Violence On December 24, 2025, shortly before 1:00 pm, police responded to a report of a female who assaulted employees at a business in the 3000 block of Victoria Ave as she attempted to steal merchandise.  Nobody was injured.  The 17-year-old female was arrested near the business and later released to appear in court on a later date on a charge of Robbery with Violence. Other arrests In the last 24 hours, two individuals were arrested on outstanding arrest warrants.  They were both released for later court dates.  Two individuals were arrested during separate incidents and lodged due to their actions while intoxicated.  They will be released once sober.

Manitoba Hydro warns of bogus bill reminder text message

A holiday season text message scam is targeting Manitobans with a bogus energy bill reminder. The text message claims a Manitoba Hydro bill is due or overdue and provides a link to make payment. Manitoba Hydro does send bill reminders via text message but does not ask for payment online or via phone, text, e-transfer or cryptocurrency. The utility is reminding customers who receive such texts not to click the link and delete the message. Manitoba Hydro warned customers recently of a similar scam sent via email. Customers can verify their account information by logging onto their online account via web browser or the Manitoba Hydro app or by calling us at 1-888-624-9376 (1-888-MBHYDRO).
