He was arrested and will appear in court on March 11, 2021 on charges of Possess Meth and Possess Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release Break and Enter to Residential Garage On December 18, 2020, police received a report of a break and enter to a garage in the 1600 block of 3 street.  Suspects gained entry through the walk in door.  Once inside they entered a vehicle and stole change.  Anyone with information regarding this Break and Enter is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service. Break and Enter to Residential Shed On December 18, 2020, police received a report of a break and Enter to a shed on Wexford Bay.  Suspects gained entry by forcing the door between December 15 and December 18.  Stole were a green Trek mountain bike, a grey Norco bike with a carrier on the back, and a Mastercraft miter saw.  Anyone with information regarding this Break and Enter is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service.

Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release On Wednesday afternoon, a vehicle with no license plates was stopped in the 800 block of 22nd St. The male driver did not have a drivers license and there was open liquor bottles in the back seat. The driver was arrested and the other occupants removed from the vehicle. A search revealed a prohibited weapon (canister of bear spray) and a quantity of white powder believed to be fentanyl.   All of the subjects were arrested and transported to BPS. Two of the male subjects lied about their identity, however their identities were confirmed from previous police contact.   All four subjects were charged as follows… A 23 year old woman from Portage la Prairie has been charged with Possess Weapon Dangerous, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl. She was released with a court date in March. A 25 year old man from Plumas is charged with Possess Weapon Dangerous, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl and Public Mischief. A 26 year old man with no fixed address is charged with Possess Weapon Dangerous, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl and Public Mischief. He was also arrested on a warrant from Portage la Prairie RCMP for Assault and Fail to comply with an Undertaking. A 23 year old man from Winnipeg is charged with Possess Weapon Dangerous, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl and several offences under the Highway Traffic Act. All three men will appear in court on Thursday morning. All four subjects were also issued offence notices for breaching a public health order by gathering in a group while they are not from the same residence.

The Brandon Municipal Airport terminal project has achieved Gold Certification. “This project marks a huge milestone for the City of Brandon as a corporation. There are several LEED certified buildings in the community but this is the first municipal LEED certified building,” noted City of Brandon’s Environmental Initiatives Coordinator Lindsay Hargreaves. “Originally the team was striving for silver. We are beyond delighted to learn that everyone's efforts in this project and our commitment to sustainability earned us a gold accolade.” Several of the green features incorporated into the project include: Natural and LED lighting,Hard surface flooring materials, adhesives, and underlayment have gone through documentation, audits and emission testingOver 75% of the original structure of the airport terminal has been maintained.  Residents can learn more about the environmental design features of the airport by visiting airport.brandon.ca/leed.
